About this spreadsheet
Most budget templates assume you’re paid once a month and have a second income to fall back on. This one is built for single moms paid every week. Type each paycheck, child support payment and purchase in one place, and it works out what’s safe to spend this week. It also shows which paycheck covers each bill and keeps a record of every child support payment, so you can stop living paycheck to paycheck and start getting ahead.
What it does
- Safe to spend this week: see exactly what’s left after bills and savings, every payday.
- Budget by paycheck: know which weekly paycheck covers rent, daycare and the rest, and spot the extra-paycheck months ahead of time.
- Child support tracker: every payment checked against its due date and marked paid, partial, late or missed, with a running total of what’s owed. Shared costs with your co-parent are tracked too.
- One place to type: log everything in the Money Log and every other tab updates itself.
- Sinking funds: save a little each week for Christmas, birthdays, back-to-school and car repairs. It works out how much to set aside per paycheck.
- Get Ahead fund: build a cushion until you’re one week ahead, then one month, then three.
- Debt snowball: see which debt to pay first and the date you’ll be debt-free.
- Kids’ costs: track spending for each child and see what’s coming up.
- Year at a glance: money in and money out for every month, with clear charts.

Questions & answers
Before you buy
Do I need Excel?
No. It also works free in Google Sheets: upload the file to Google Drive and open it there.
Is it hard to set up?
Fill in the Start tab (name, first payday, take-home pay), then add your bills. It takes about 15 minutes, and the Instructions tab walks you through each step.
What if my paycheck changes every week?
Log what you actually got paid and everything adjusts.
What if I don’t receive child support?
Leave that section blank and the rest works as normal.
Can I use it next year?
Yes. Start a fresh copy and enter your first payday of the new year.
Is this financial advice?
No. It’s a budgeting tool to help you see and plan your own money.
Can I get a refund?
Because this is a digital download, all sales are final. If anything doesn’t work, contact me and I’ll help.
